Fueled by compassion and the generosity of those who love the Green Mountains, the Stratton Community Foundation is the heartbeat of Southern Vermont, bridging the gap between need and impact.
As many as 85% of families in Southern Vermont live at or below the poverty level and in crisis. Our service area embraces rural and remote towns within a 40 miles radius from the epicenter of Stratton Mountain: Arlington, Bondville, Danby, Dorset, Jamaica, Landgrove, Londonderry, Manchester, Newfane-Newbrook, Pawlet, Peru, South Londonderry, Stratton, Sunderland, Townshend, Wardsboro, Weston, Windham, and Winhall.
Refining Our Reach
While our footprint is broad, the obstacles families face are not distributed equally. As a grassroots organization, we function with geographic precision to deploy coordinated resources where they will have the most significant impact on a child's future. The town-by-town data below serves as more than just a report; it is the strategic guide that informs our leadership and resource allocation.
Understanding the weight of scarcity is the first step toward dismantling it. To break the cycle, we must first understand the specific barriers facing our neighbors.
