Stratton Community Foundation is dedicated to ending the persistent cycle of economic hardship by providing support and programming to address:
hunger, basic necessities, health, and education.
We understand the cyclical nature of poverty and its impact on children.
Our mission is to address the challenges that stand between a child in need and the opportunity to be healthy, safe and prepared to learn. As a community-based nonprofit, our role is to care for the well-being of families across Southern Vermont. Our vision is to help children focus on their education and set them on a path to success and economic independence.
Mapping the Need
Our mission is a promise, but our footprint is the roadmap. We know our community intimately—we understand that a priority in the mountains may not be the same level of need in the valley below. A map alone doesn’t show the weight these children carry. To make a real difference, we must recognize the interconnected barriers that define the unique landscape of scarcity in every corner of Southern Vermont and look closely at how that chain reaction shapes a child’s vision for the future.
