Access to nutritious food is essential to a child’s ability to thrive. At the Stratton Community Foundation, hunger programming supports the whole child; when families are food secure, stress is reduced and children are present, healthy, and engaged in learning.
Our signature "Feed the Community" program includes a major investment in grocery cards that are a strategic lifeline to families in need. We rely on a network of trust - caregivers, local doctors, social workers, and school partners identify those in crisis. For families living paycheck to paycheck, this relief is a spark of hope—the vital difference between the burden of scarcity and the security provided by a caring community.
Restoring Dignity and Focus
We work to ensure that children have access to consistent, nutritious food even when school is not in session, providing a sense of stability during weekends and holidays. Our work extends, fostering a culture of health and independence through initiatives that engage students in hands-on learning. Teaching kids where their food comes from broadens their palates and builds lifelong habits.
By alleviating the pressure of impossible financial choices, the impact we make goes far beyond the dinner table.
