Todd Richter has been supporting college scholarships since 2014
The Todd Richter First-Generation Scholarship
Mr. Todd Richter has been a long supporter of the Stratton Foundation, starting a first-generation scholarship and supporting 22 students with over $65,000 in out-of-pocket unmet expenses. Teens who recognize the value of further education as life-changing and demonstrate financial need are considered, and selected based on character, promise, grit, and academic success. Inspired by Todd's vision, the Stratton Community Foundation built on the Todd Richter Scholarship, which has grown exponentially. Today, the scholarship program supports 70 active college scholarships, with 12- new donor-family scholarships added annually.
The Kost & Halsband families have joined together to share a 4-year college scholarship
Stratton Foundation College Scholarship
The Stratton Foundation is making long term investments in long term results by not only providing financial scholarships, but in developing a relationship with each recipient, fostering encouragement, inspiration, pride and accountability. Consideration is based on academic merit, recognition of the value of education on their future success through a written essay and demonstration of strength of character and promising future. In 2020, awards were presented to Mary Mendez and Samira Champine.
Imagine the possibilities! ✨ The Stratton Community Foundation, alongside dedicated partners and generous donor families, is making dreams a reality for students across Southern Vermont. We award scholarships for hands-on work experiences in fields like carpentry, electricity, culinary arts, line work, auto mechanics, as well as for higher education.
We're not just offering support; we're changing lives.
Be a part of their success story. Discover how you can wrap your arms around the future of a deserving young person and empower their journey towards economic independence.
We love to make the connections between our donors and their scholarship award recipients!
Lucy Prachyl (BBA) and Sandy Wheeler
How it Works:
A donor commitment $12,000 or $3,000 per year supports a child to afford the out of pocket expenses that prohibit further education beyond high-school. Scholarships are awarded directly to the student to pay for books, class resources, transportation, food, etc. or to the institution to pay for tuition, as the student requests.
Each scholarship will be titled “Your Name Scholarship of the Stratton Foundation” and presented to the student on your behalf.
Assemble your family members together to create a shared named scholarship
Partner with another family -- we will be happy to name the scholarship in both families’ names *
Fund ½ the scholarship and ½ through your corporate matching funds *
